Rae Andrews, RN, CNM, MS is a certified nurse-midwife specializing in the care of essentially healthy women.  She has provided  consultation, evaluation, and  management of low-risk pregnancies and birth and in the general care of women throughout the life cycle with routine GYN and family planning services.

Rae Andrews is a native Texan who has recently relocated to Colorado.  She received her bachelor of science nursing degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.  She has a certificate in nurse-midwifery from Baylor College of Medicine.  Ms. Andrews received her master of science degree from Texas Woman's University majoring in maternal-child nursing and a minor in education.  She is  member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and an educational member of the American College of Obstetricians/Gynecologists (ACOG).

Ms. Andrews has served in a variety of maternal-child nursing and midwifery positions.  She was the Director of a free standing birth center for over nine years  in Houston.  Ms. Andrews has served as head nurse of a progressive Labor/Delivery and Postpartum units at a west side Houston hospital.  She worked with MacGregor Medical as a staff nurse-midwife performing deliveries at Hermann Hospital.  For several years, Ms. Andrews served as a part of the nurse-midwifery faculty of Baylor College of Medicine and had privileges at St. Luke's, Methodist, and Ben Taub hospitals taking care of both private and clinic patients.  She was also a faculty instructor in Baylor's nurse-midwifery education program. Ms.  Andrews was
a childbirth instructor in Houston from 1977 thru 2011. For most of the years as a childbirth instructor, she taught Bradley classes and then decided to teach independent childbirth classes in the last few years.  Since the closure of her Birth Center, Ms. Andrews  worked primarily with a private physician in his office providing prenatal, postpartum, GYN, and family planning care  to patients.  She maintained a small private caseload of her own patients and providing prenatal, birth, postpartum, GYN and family planning care - mainly for her returning clientele through 2011 until her recent move to Colorado.  She also has developed prenatal practice guidelines for some different institutions and has done occasional legal casework review.

Rae Andrews now resides in Colorado with her husband, David, and has three children.  Her oldest son was born in one of the first out-of-hospital birth centers in the country.  She has had natural childbirths for all three of her children.  Her last child was delivered with a certified nurse-midwife.  Ms. Andrews relocated to Colorado to be closer to family already residing in the state.  She and her family are enjoying Colorado and all it has to offer.  Although she misses her family, friends, colleagues, and former patients in Houston, the heat and humidity are not missed!

Rae Andrews, CNM strives to provide state of the art nurse-midwifery care with special attention to individual patient needs and an emphasis on patient counseling and education.

Rae Andrews, CNM welcomes correspondence from former clients that she has serviced throughout the years .
